Mission

Carolina Sled Hockey is dedicated to the development and enjoyment of ice hockey for adults who experience a disability. Promoting Community Inclusion through the power of sport. Serving the Triangle and surrounding areas of North Carolina. We are associated with USA Disabled Sled Hockey. We are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in partnership with the Alliance of Disability Advocates and its Adaptive Sports Club ADANC.

What we do

Carolina Sled Hockey is an Adult program that allows individuals that are unable to play stand up hockey the opportunity to play at little to no cost. Carolina Sled Hockey is a member of the South East Sled Hockey League (SESHL) currently consisting of (Carolina, Charleston SC, Knoxville TN, Orlando FL, Space Coast FL, and Tampa FL). Carolina Sled also competes in National Tournaments throughout the season.

Our History

On June 28, 2007, Triangle Special Hockey Association (TSHA) is born in North Carolina. In 2010 we started North Carolina’s first sled hockey program for mobility-challenged youth and adults. In 2019 Carolina Sled Hockey joined the Adaptive Sports Club ADANC, a program offered by the Alliance of Disability Advocates. Carolina Sled Hockey operates on the generosity of donors and volunteers.

Jack Cotterell

Founder / Former President of Triangle Special Hockey / Carolina Sled Hockey

Jack founded TSHA in 2007 and founded North Carolina’s first sled hockey program in 2010. Jack also played on the traveling sled team being part of 3 National Championships. Jack retired from TSHA and Carolina Sled Hockey in 2019. We are very grateful for the many lives Jack has touched and changed throughout the years.
